AMHFA offers a range of comprehensive, skills-based early-intervention courses for workplace and community organizations, teachers and school management, and parents. ALL our courses are tailored to the African mental health challenges and stories and are based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and mental health professionals.
AMPHA courses teach you about the signs and symptoms of mental health literacy and teach the practical skills needed to understand the basics of mental health, how to support someone experiencing a mental health problem, or whose experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.
You also learn about the types of help and support available and how to help someone access the support they need.
Finally, the courses also teach organizations, best practice processes, and systems that cater to the mental wellness of staff.
Self-care training for individuals are in the following: depression awareness, women’s self-care depression awareness, stress management, stress and burnout, and overcoming suicidal thoughts.
