Shibero.Com Psychosocial Health Trust (SPHT), located in Nairobi Kenya, Africa.
We support people whose mental health is affected due to the inability to cope with
challenging life situations faced daily. We also support recovery, fight stigma & work
with partners to take action.
Through mental wellness education (on and offline), emotional and psychosocial
initiatives, we enable the vulnerable groups to build life skills that strengthen and build
resilience, so that they are able to rebuild and thrive in the wake of challenging
situations.
Mission
Our mission is to educate, create awareness, and promote individual and community
psychosocial and mental wellness, resilience skills, alongside breaking the stigma of
mental ill health.
Vision
Our vision is for a world -especially on the African continent, with good mental and
psychosocial health for all and for communities, families and individuals to achieve
healthier happier lives.
Our Values
Caring
We treat everyone as we would like to be treated. With love, care,
compassion, empathy and kindness.
Enabling
We enable ourselves and others to act with confidence in order to achieve
a win-win result for all.
Working together
We work together in partnership, being inclusive by understanding and
valuing others to achieve the best results for everyone in everything we do.
Integrity
We act with transparency and honesty, respecting and valuing others to do
the right thing at the right time for everyone.
OUR WORK
Our work helps to promote and support the mental health and psychosocial wellbeing
of communities in Africa and beyond. We provide services for individuals, families,
signposting for everyone, training & consultancy for schools, community groups
including churches and organizations.
We work towards good mental and psychosocial health for all with a focus on
prevention is better than cure. Everything we do is based on protecting people’s mental
and psychosocial health. We know that some groups in the communities are at higher
risk of mental health problems due to the social, economic, and environmental
circumstances they find themselves in.
Much of our work challenges these mental health inequalities by helping those at the
greatest risk. These are some of the projects we have been involved in.
